For King County Councilmember Jane Hague, that's the message she wanted to send in this campaign, said Isaiah Paine, her campaign manager.
On the council since 1993, she mostly tried to show voters that she fits the district well, Paine said. Hence the locals' bar — the Juanita Pub — for the party: Keep that neighborhood feeling.
It was high heels meets blue jeans as the politicos moved in for the evening, stroking the screens of their smartphones. Nobody was playing pool.
