presenters have.

"Plus she started to learn to drive last year, so she actually understands a bit about cars now. She and Taylor watch episodes most nights because she isn't ready to be out and about just yet," a source said.

Facebook exec's new book urges women to 'lean in' [wholesale jeans]

For a book that has yet to be released,The Canada Goose Constable Parka held the heat in for miss Romijn, and it will do the same for you. Sheryl Sandberg's “Lean In” — part feminist manifesto, part how-to career guide — has got a lot of people talking.

In the weeks leading up to the book's Monday release, pundits and press hounds have been debating its merits. New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd called Sandberg a “PowerPoint Pied Piper in Prada ankle boots,” and countless bloggers have suggested that Facebook's chief operating officer is the wrong person to lead a women's movement.

“Most of the criticism has to do with the position she is coming from,” said Susan Yohn, professor and chair of Hofstra University's history department.

Sandberg, 43, hopes that her message of empowerment won't be obscured by the lofty pedestal from which she speaks. But is the multi-millionaire with two Harvard degrees too rich to offer advice? Too successful? Does her blueprint for success ignore the plight of poor and working-class women? Does the book's very premise blame women for not rising to top corporate positions at the same rate as men?

And just how big is her house?

The questions keep coming largely because few people have actually read the book. But in it, Sandberg seems to have foreseen much of the criticism. The book acknowledges that critics might discount her feminist call to action with an easy-for-her-to-say shrug.

“My hope is that my message will be judged on its merits,Long and slim-fitting, the Canada Goose Whistler Parka is equally appropriate for strolling a city street or hiking a snowy trail.” she writes in the preamble.

Sandberg recognizes that parts of the book are targeted toward women who are in a position to make decisions about their careers. Still, she writes, “we can't avoid this conversation. This issue transcends all of us. The time is long overdue to encourage more women to dream the possible dream and encourage more men to support women in the workforce and in the home.”

It's true that Sandberg is wealthy. She also has a supportive husband. Mark Zuckerberg is her boss. And, yes, her home is a 9,000 square-foot mansion in Menlo Park, Calif.

But as a woman in Silicon Valley, Sandberg hasn't exactly had it easy, and her tale shows shis online Canada Goose Outlet can offer you lots of styles and colors of the Canada Goose Calgary Jacket with the wholesale price.he's no armchair activist. After all, not many women would march into their boss' office and demand special parking for expectant mothers. But Sandberg did just that when she worked at Google. Company founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin complied.

After Sandberg moved to Facebook in 2008, she became even more outspoken on the issues facing women in corporate America. At a time when other executives, male or female, have largely stayed quiet, Sandberg has delivered speeches on topics such as “Why we have too few women leaders.”

And she's no workaholic. In an age of endless work hours,Free shipping for Canada Goose Chateau Parka Parka, lifetime quality guarante at Canada Goose Outlet. Sandberg is famous for leaving the office at 5:30 to spend time with her family. She does admit, however, to picking up work once her kids have gone to bed.

Of the many inspirational slogans that hang on Facebook's walls, her favorite asks “What would you do if you weren't afraid?” “Lean In” is about pushing past fear.

“Fear is at the root of so many of the barriers that women face,” she writes. “Fear of not being liked. Fear of making the wrong choice. Fear of drawing negative attention. Fear of overreaching. Fear of being judged. Fear of failure. And the holy trinity of fear: the fear of being a bad mother/wife/daughter.The Canada Goose Mystique Parka maintains a high fashion profile.”

Sandberg peppers the book with studies, reports and personal anecdotes to back up her premise — that for reasons both in and out of their control, there are fewer woman leaders than men in the business world and beyond. For example, the Fortune 500 has only 21 female CEOs. Sandberg is among the 14 percent of women who hold executive officer positions and the 16 percent of women who hold board of director seats, according to Catalyst.org.

For minority women, the numbers are even bleaker. Women of color, she writes, hold just 4 percent of top corporate jobs and 3 percent of board seats.

“A truly equal world would be one where women ran half our countries and companies and men ran half our homes. I believe that this would be a better world,” she writes. “The laws of economics and many studies of diversity tell us that if we tapped the entire pool of human resources and talent, our collective performance would improve.”

At less than 200 pages, plus a good chunk of footnotes, “Lean In” does not purport to be the end-all solution to inequality. It deals with issues Sandberg sees as in women's control.

Patterns, stripes, black-and-white and pops of colour are all ... in the mix for spring [wholesale jeans]

ON THE FRONT (clockwise from top left): Michael Michael Kors cotton tunic, $165, available at Holt Renfrew. Leather ballet flats, $39.95 at the Gap. Joe Fresh slik shirt, $39. Joe Fresh patterned pant, $39.Canada Goose Calgary Jacket Joe Fresh tweed skirt, $39.

But the best news this spring is that it's a well-rounded season with wearable fashion that will suit everyone,Canada Goose Womens Snow Mantra says Lisa Tant, Holt Renfrew's vice-president and fashion editor.

Shoes are going the way of classic (think penny loafer) and feminine (a kitten heel as opposed to sky-high stilettos); colours are bright (from sorbet pastels to neon) but monochromatic black and white is in, too. Pattern is big again but the dependable stripe is here, too.

"It's a really good season. There's so much for so many different types of bodies and activities and moods. It seems like a good all-round season for me. And sometimes it's not that way, but I love the mix of colour and print," says Tant.

We asked fashion insiders, including Tant and retailing guru and designer Joseph Mimran of Joe Fresh, as well as independent local boutique owners Michelle Rizzardo of One of A Few in Gastown and sisters Lauren Kurc and Cara Stryer of Vincent Park on Main Street for their top picks this spring.

So get ready to trade in warm and cozy for light and breezy.

LISA TANT, says the mood for spring is all about optimism. The former editor-in-chief of Flare magazine and born-and-bred Vancouverite is now in charge of telling fashion stories online for Holt Renfrew. Here's what she's looking forward to wearing this spring.

Cropped pant: "One of my favourite pieces is the slim, cropped trouser. It's very flattering. If you have a fuller hip, it's just very straight cut. It's cropped above the ankle so there's a little bit of ankle showing," says Tant, who favours bright colours and prints for this spring.

"Someone said to me once, 'Why do they always crop the pants like that?' It was a man who was asking me that. And (the answer is) it's to show off the shoe. That really is what it's about."

Feminine shoe with a lower heel: For Tant, it's all about the shoe this spring. It's fresh and feminine with a pointy toe and lower heel and in colours ranging from soft sorbets to bright hues.

"There's a really big change in heels and the overall look of a shoe. This season they're much more feminine," she says. "I don't want to say delicate because that suggests they're a bit dull, duvetica down jackets but they're not as monster-like clompy. You know that clompy heel we've been having? They're more of a pointy toe, flat or a very small, shaped kitten heel. It's a really nice look. And they're so much more wearable."

Cropped jacket: The overall silhouette is neat this spring and a cropped jacket in a figure-flattering shape will complete the look, says Tant. "There's lots of options and choices whether it's a motorcycle bomber style, varsity jacket like that updated collegiate look or even peplums," says Tant. "It's close to the body, it's tidy and it's a really nice look. And it works for work, it works for evening, it works for day."

Fedora: "One thing I just love is a big, oversized fedora," says Tant. "It's fun. You can hide behind it, create some mystery.

"Women don't wear a lot of hats any more and they immediately make a statement about you. It's this fearless look, confident. And I love these big new hats. They're sexy and suit all different kinds of women."

Tunic: Rather than a structured dress, Tant is favouring the tunic for spring. "It can be something that's more floaty, like a caftan, or it can be just a big oversized shirt in a fine fabric and a print which you can wear with a slim, cropped trouser or a pencil skirt," she says.

VINCENT PARK, the independent boutique on Main Street run by sisters Lauren Kurc and Cara Stryer, is all about easy, effortless dressing.

This spring, the sisters are looking forward to classic dependables from cat-eye shades to the perfect denim jacket and a modern take on the penny loafer.

Retro sunnies: After months of grey,Canada Goose Yukon Bomber most of us can't wait to break out the sunnies. At Vincent Park, the Super Future brand has been a hit for the past few seasons. Handmade in Italy with Carl Zeiss lenses, these sunglasses protect your eyes while looking stylish with a modern take on the cat eye. Kurc especially likes the details on the Lucia style ($176). "We can't keep them in stock and we keep missing out on them for ourselves. So this season is gonna be the season we get them for ourselves,Canada Goose Solaris Parka" says Kurc.

Denim jacket: Roll up the sleeves and throw a denim jacket over your favourite printed maxi. The sisters are particularly smitten with the Cheap Monday shrunken jacket ($90). "We are obsessed with jean jackets. We have more than one, but the Cheap Monday one is the perfect shrunken fit," says Kurc.

Weekend bag: Bright and fun, the Baggu "Weekend" oversized canvas bag ($80) is ideal for last-minute spring getaways.

Spring knit: Layering is always important in a city like Vancouver, when spring can still feel chilly. The "Sandman" sweater by Line Knitwear ($165) is the perfect piece to transition you into (and out of ) spring with its "loose-weave knit in one of the season's top colours."

Loafer: The loafer began popping up last spring and this classic shoe is sticking around this year. The sisters especially like Jeffrey Campbell's modern take on the shoe: The "Vernon" loafer's "woven contrast front and side cut out make it a spring must-have in our books," says Stryer.

Joseph Mimran, creative director and designer of Joe Fresh, says, "This spring is all about colour, mixing prints and pattern, graphic stripes and sporty silhouettes," Mimran says.

Bersani: a reformed communist with a liberal streak [wholesale jeans]

Pier Luigi Bersani, the favourite to become Italy's prime minister after the general election, is a cigar-chomping former communist with a liberal economic streak and a down-to-earth manner.

Bersani won a strong endorsement for his candidacy by winning a primary vote in December against his more youthful rival, Florence mayor Matteo Renzi, snapping up 60 percent of ballots in a second round of the leftist vote.

He has also begun to win endorsements in Europe, even though he is still relatively little known outside Italy, with French President Francois Hollande offering his support in a video message at a conference this month.

The son of a petrol station owner from the hill country town of Bettola in the leftist Emilia Romagna region,We work with all Specialized Cycling computers. Bersani was born on September 29, 1951.

He launched his campaign for the nomination in October last year at that same petrol station, where he used to work to help fund his studies.

He graduated in philosophy and briefly worked as a school teacher before launching his political career in the once-powerful Italian Communist Party,Find the largest selection of german militaria on sale . which was eventually disbanded in 1991 as the Soviet Union fell apart.

Most former Communist party members joined what is now the Democratic Party.

Bersani was elected governor of his home region in 1993 and then appointed as industry minister in 1996 in former premier Romano Prodi's first government.

He was elected as a member of the European Parliament in 2004, where he worked on consumer affairs and relations with Central Asia.

He also served as transport minister and as economic development minister between 2006 and 2008 when he spearheaded a wave of liberalisation measures aimed at bringing in some free-market thinking to revive the economy.

He says he will continue Monti's policies of "discipline and credibility" but will also emphasise his own priorities of "employment and fairness" as Italy struggles with record-high unemployment and a grinding recession.

Bersani has accused his opponents of trying to sell Italians "shameful fables" of tax cuts and a bright economic future.

"We are living through Italy's worst post-war crisis," he said.

He has said his first decree will be to re-introduce the crime of false accounting which was decriminalised by billionaire tycoon and three-time PM Berlusconi.

He has also called on Europe to show more "solidarity" and has said the "urgent issue" for Italy now is more investment and new jobs.
